The Worship Arts Ministry at First Christian Church (FCC) is growing every week as we discover that worship is everywhere we turn! We’ve divided the arts into several groups so we can connect people with their passions. These groups are headed up by vision teams of volunteers that are passionate about worship and expressing their love for God and others through the arts.

Corporate Worship Arts:

Corporate Worship Arts here at FCC is the area of arts where we focus on worshipping together on Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights and during Celebration Services. It is our desire to continually be growing as a body. We desire to bless the heart of God through coming together and offering Him our combined worship through song, performing arts, production arts and visual and fine arts. This is the arena in which we attempt to combine our separate talents and direct them together towards Heaven and offer them as sacrifice of praise!

Performing Arts:

PerformingArts have often earned a bad wrap in the church. Arrogant soloists and “Hot-Headed” worship leaders that are more interested in impressing the crowds than impressing God with their offering, have hurt performance in church. However 300 years ago when the world wanted to hear good music they would go to church to hear the inspired works of composers like Bach. We believe that the church needs to offer great performances again. The church should not be afraid to say …”This is what God has to offer in the way of quality performance.” It’s our desire to offer great performances of drama, dance and music that will connect people with their Savior in a way that only the arts can.

Production Arts:

Production Arts at FCC is utilizing technology to facilitate our corporate worship services and special events, in an attempt to enhance the worship experience. We are using cameras, lights, computers, sound equipment and anything we can get our hands to make our worship experiences meaningful. In worship, a little production can go a long way and we are striving to add to worship rather than distract the worshipper. The focus of all of our worship experiences is God… if you attend a worship event at FCC and walk away having met with Jesus without noticing our production team then we are doing our job!

Visual and Fine Arts:

Visual and Fine Arts at FCC is a growing ministry. With so many artists in our body we are regularly figuring out new ways to put visual and fine arts to work in our services, and in our daily church life. We believe that God wants artists to glorify Him through their art. Whether painting, drawing or sculpting… photography, film making or creative writing… Anything that is art can be, and should be worship.
